A Life Saved

I want to share the story of just one of our “moms” with you. I think that Galit is a good example of the moms whom we help. Galit, who lives in Haifa, made Aliya (immigration) to Israel from South America nine years ago. She has a two-year-old son and recently gave birth to her daughter, Liat. Galit’s partner is an Israeli from a Russian background and both children are from him. They were very serious and wanted to get married until his mother came into the picture. She wanted him to be only with a Russian woman and was against their relationship. Unfortunately, she is very controlling and he was not able to go against his mother. When Galit discovered that she was pregnant with baby Liat, her partner didn’t want to have the child so Galit seriously considered abortion because she found the pressure from him and his mother very difficult.

She was confused and didn’t know what to do. A friend referred her to Be’ad Chaim. Her counselor listened to her, showed care and offered her new HOPE and practical HELP through our Operation Moses project. She decided to keep her baby and choose life. Today Galit feels bad that she ever thought that she wanted to abort her sweet daughter.

Galit was very surprised how hard it is to have two children, having to do everything all on her own. Galit’s son was very jealous from the first moment he met his little sister and that added a lot of pressure on Galit. She found herself crying and crying for hours, getting angry and raising her voice. After two weeks, she decided to go to the doctor. The doctor recognized postpartum depression and has prescribed her with the appropriate medication. Praise God, she feels a lot better now but still feels negative emotions more than she did before Liat’s birth. Please pray for her full recovery and healing and for a beautiful bonding with her precious daughter. Please pray also for her older son to love and accept his sister and know the depth of his mother’s love for him.

Galit loves her partner and would love to be in a relationship with him. He loves her too but they can’t seem to continue with his mother’s hold on their relationship. Our welfare system offered them couple counseling to see if they can restore their relationship. Please pray for it to work out so they can build a healthy family together.

Galit is so deeply grateful for all the love and support she has received. I want to thank you so much for caring about moms like Galit. Thank you for your generosity and your prayers.

May the Lord bless you,

Sandy Shoshani
